Celebrating the sailing club regatta

An epic passage, a warm welcome, a racing area with new challenges and different competitors, an expansive regatta tea (often worth the price of the entry fee on its own), and a chase home in the last of the tide to avoid the mud walk back to your home slipway: some of the unique delights of a Chichester Harbour club regatta day.

In 2017, Rushall Sailing dispatched our secret sailing shoppers to every club regatta in the harbour, to test the welcome, racing format, and quality of the post race tea. We reported back for the 2018 Chichester Harbour Conservancy News 2018, and, as an encouragement to sailors to participate this year, Mark has offered a half day’s coaching to the Harbour based team with the highest accumulated finishing points from the 2018 regattas.
